6 Reasons Why You Want to Attend This Symposium

FACT #1: The pace and advances in Parkinson's have been phenomenal over the past 5 years as we begin to identify the causes of PD, discover advances in medications and treatment plans, and eventually to find a cure.

FACT #2: We are fortunate to live in San Diego County, and have access to world-renowned specialists and scientists researching neurological diseases like Parkinson's.

FACT #3: As an education and advocacy organization, the Parkinson's Disease Association of San Diego can provide the necessary knowledge and skills to all physicians, pharmacists and other CME/ACPE-eligible healthcare professionals to strengthen the continuity of care for persons diagnosed with Parkinson's.

FACT #4: The American Medical Association has expressed concern that the current healthcare workforce will be unable to meet the growing health care needs of over 70 million seniors in the U.S. who expect access to high quality medical care.

FACT #5: There is no cure for Parkinson's. However, there are many options available to help patients manage their symptoms and slow the progression of the disease, thus allowing them to maintain their quality of life and independence for as long as possible.

FACT #6: The 2008 Update on Parkinson's disease Symposium is just one of many programs offered by the Parkinson's Disease Association of San Diego that provides valuable training opportunities to medical professionals working to improve the overall quality of care throughout the Parkinson's Community.
