In-Home Respite Care Services

Purpose: To provide companionship and personal care for Parkinson's patients, thus allowing for a period of relief and rest for spouses and caregivers from the responsibilities of providing long-term care.

"Your In-Home Respite Care Program is wonderful! We're
alone and this program gives us time to take care of business."

How It Works: We contract with bonded home health care agencies and caregivers who can assist with bathing, feeding, ambulating, meal preparation and cleaning.

"We appreciate the courtesy and help of all of the
people we've had contact with at your organization."

Cost: PDASD will subsidize up to 8 hours/week of the hourly cost for in-home respite care provided to Parkinson's patients and their caregivers residing in San Diego County. Families are responsible for fees ranging from $6-13/hour depending on their monthly income and savings.

"This program gives hope to spouses and caregivers that someone really cares about us!"
