Insurance Donations

Did you know that a gift of life insurance is a simple, cost-effective way to make a substantial gift to support the programs and services of PASD or to honor a loved one affected by Parkinson’s?

WHY A GIFT OF LIFE INSURANCE:
Today it is not uncommon for people to have multiple life insurance policies. When you first bought these policies, you had a purpose in mind – probably to help ensure the financial stability of your family should something happen to you or your spouse. Perhaps the policies were made to pay for estate taxes and other expenses associated with the settlement of an estate. Have your circumstances changed since then?

If so, why not consider making a gift of a life insurance to PASD? In some cases, a gift of life insurance can allow you to make a more substantial contribution than might otherwise be possible.

“Despite the prevalance of pain in persons with PD, it is often overlooked by clinicians”

HOW IT WORKS:
If you own a paid-up life insurance policy that you no longer need, you can assign PASD as a beneficiary. It’s a simple way to help – just call your insurance company and ask for a beneficiary designation form.

Or, you may choose to make an irrevocable gift of the policy today by transferring ownership of a current policy to PASD.

BENEFITS:
• You receive gift credit and an immediate income tax deduction for the cash surrender value of the policy.

• In some cases, you can use the cash value in your policy to fund a life- income gift, such as a deferred gift annuity.

• You can have the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of Parkinson’s families without adversely affecting your cash flow.
